Childcare Center
Childcare is one of the most important pieces of infrastructure and the first thing families look for when choosing a place to call home. This new center will address the dire need our community faces!
A new child development center will house up to 300 children and address the “childcare desert” in the Nishna Valley area. This facility will be situated near 18th and Olive streets and adjacent to the new Camblin Hills Housing Development.
Community Impact:
Continuity of quality care from infants to 5-year-olds
Access to Jack & Jill Preschool in the same facility
Broken down age ranges in rooms for better quality of care
Dedicated rooms to include STEM activities, dramatic play and other educational activities
Reserved room for ill children to receive care and be kept separate while waiting for caregiver to arrive
Enhanced playground for all abilities
Enable current Ann Wickman building to be utilized for other YMCA services
